Well, I'll answer them a bit out of order to make the answers make sense. For an archetype, he's the cynical soldier. But a brief mentioning of Ignisato society is probably in order to answer the first question.

Most importantly, they lay eggs. These eggs are all stuck in one big incubator and all the kids are hatched as a big heard of offspring. The community raises them, and they have no concept of a family as humans do. This results in no preferential treatment of children. So, the fact that your character is a little girl has no real impact on his opinion.

Secondly, they are an information obsessed capitalist society. So they hate to have wrong information, and thus don't usually judge before hand. They also have a individual mentality, every man for himself, so being blind just makes someone else's job easier. So again, he wouldn't really care that she's blind either. Even without these cultural references, trying to judge an obstacle without observations would lead to incorrect information, and so he tends not to do that. So right now, he'll regard your character as an obstacle that he needs to find out more about.

Onto the question of blood. Simply, yes. Not so simply, it's a cyan liquid. It gets most of it's color from iron (II) sulfate. Ignisato breathe sulfur trioxide instead of oxygen, through some rather energetic reactions, it ends up as a sulfate ion, which is locked up in a way similar to oxygen in our blood, to prevent it from reacting. But, let the blood sit around too long and it'll decompose into mostly sulfuric acid.

And I think I've sort of answered his general personality. He's creative and cynical. He'll do what it takes to get the job done, regardless of the means. Morality is a subject for scholars, not soldiers.
